Faustino Bodegas
About the Brand

Founded in 1861, Bodegas Faustino has been a key player in Rioja DOCa history. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the winery is renowned for its expertise and commitment to producing exceptional wines. Faustino is the 19th most admired wine brand in the world and has a presence in over 140 countries. With 700 hectares of vineyards across all three Rioja sub-regions, Faustino is one of the largest landowners in the region. The brand is recognized for its iconic Rembrandt portrait, which has become a hallmark of Faustino.

Winemaker Profile

Juan Jose Diez, winemaker at Bodegas Faustino, believes that people choose wine from a specific region for its distinctive flavor. He sees the essence of Rioja in its terrior, barrel aging, and the bledning of local grapes such as Tempranillo. Bodegas Faustino, Diez is committed to preserving these traditions and highlighting the regions unique heritage in every bottle.

Inspired By Art

In the 1950s, when Don Julio Faustino Martinez launched the Faustino brand internationally, he combined his two passions, wine and art, as a tribute to his father, Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz. One of the most iconic elements of the Faustino brands launch was the use of a portrait by Rembrandt.

The Vineyards

Faustino is one of the largest vineyard owners in the DOCa Rioja wine region, with 700 hectares under its ownership. Its vineyards are spread across all three sub-regions of Rioja: Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Alta, and Rioja Oriental.
